Molbio Diagnostics Shares Rally 6% After Strong Debut

Molbio Diagnostics shares rally 6% after debut

Molbio Diagnostics shares rallied up to 6% to Rs 1,044 on Monday following a strong debut on Dalal Street. The stock moved higher soon after listing at Rs 980 on both the BSE and NSE, compared with the issue price of Rs 807 per share. The move from the opening price to the intraday high of Rs 1,044 represented a gain of approximately 6%, building on the listing premium already captured at the opening bell.

Listing Premium Surpasses Grey Market Expectations

Molbio Diagnostics debuted at a 21% premium to its IPO price of Rs 807, opening at Rs 980 on both main exchanges. This surpassed grey market expectations, which had indicated a listing premium of around 15%. The actual premium of approximately 21% therefore came in ahead of the implied levels seen in unofficial trading prior to listing.

Market commentary noted that the debut was considered healthy, with the listing valuation described as reasonable relative to peers. The combination of a better-than-expected premium and the subsequent rally to Rs 1,044 underlined the strength of demand for the shares on listing day.

Expert Commentary on Post-Listing Discipline

Market experts tracking Molbio Diagnostics highlighted the company’s position in molecular diagnostics and its expansion-led growth plans when discussing the listing. Shivani Nyati, Head of Wealth at Swastika Investmart, commented that Molbio Diagnostics had a healthy debut, listing at a premium of 21.4% to the issue price. She pointed to its leadership in molecular diagnostics, expansion-led growth strategy, and favourable industry prospects as elements backing interest in the shares.

At the same time, Nyati emphasised that investors should remain disciplined following the sharp initial gain seen on listing. She noted that while the listing valuation was reasonable relative to peers, caution was advisable after the early rally. She suggested a stop-loss level of Rs 900 for those invested in the stock, indicating a risk-management approach amid post-listing volatility.
